Wix to WordPress

Wix does not let you export your site. We read the published site instead, keep its layout and styles, move blog posts across at the same URLs and swap Wix's blurred image placeholders for the full-size originals.

What comes across from Wix

Before you start

  • Publish the site and paste its public address, not the editor link.
  • Free sites on a wixsite.com address work.

What stays on Wix

  • Wix Stores checkout, Bookings and Members areas do not carry over.
  • Wix places elements absolutely inside each section, so sections come across as larger blocks. Text and images are editable; moving things around inside a section is a job for a developer.

Wix questions

Can I export my Wix site myself?

Not the design. Wix has no code export, and its blog export only covers posts. We rebuild the whole site from the published pages, so you do not need an export.

What happens to my Wix blog?

Posts are imported into WordPress with their titles, dates, images and body text, at the same /post/ URLs, so existing links and search results keep working.

Will my images be sharp?

Yes. Wix pages load tiny blurred placeholders and swap them with a script. We request the full-size version of every image instead.

Is converting free?

Yes. Converting, previewing and asking for changes cost nothing. You pay when you launch the site on hosting.

What about my domain and email?

You point your domain at your new server with two DNS records and we check them for you. Email stays wherever it is today because we never touch your MX records.
